Maynards Bassetts is launching an on-pack promotion competition this summer which will see the brand give away ‘marvellously bonkers’ days out to more than 100 consumers.
The top three winners will scoop a pair of flights to New Zealand, complete with £2,000 spending money and possibly tickets to the Wacky Sheep Race event. One hundred other lucky consumers will win tickets to a bonkers day out in the UK or Ireland, such as the World Pea Championships in Witcham and rabbit show jumping in Bradford, along with travel and £50 spending money. There are also 1,000 vouchers for a complimentary bag of sweets from the Maynards Bassetts range up for grabs.
Convenience retailers also have the chance to win one of six £100 Love2Shop vouchers with their in-store ‘Bonkers’ display. To be entered into the prize draw, retailers should upload a photo of their Maynards Bassetts promotional bags between May 15 and July 31, 2017 to www.deliciousdisplay.co.uk.
To help drive awareness of the promo, there will be a £6m marketing spend from the brand in 2017, which will include TV and high impact in-store activity throughout the summer.
Katie Bashford, Senior Brand Manager for Maynards Bassetts, said the promotion was aimed at adults who have a silly side to them. “It includes the same packs that consumers know and love, with the addition of a quirky competition to make their British summer memorable. The summer is a peak time for candy and with attractive on pack activations offering a strong opportunity to drive rate of sale, we hope to drive further category growth.”
Marvellously bonkers packs will be available in depot from April 28 and the promotion will run from May 1until August 31, 2017.
