Confectionery lines from Magnum, Cornetto and Mini Milk ice cream brands are set to launch this month after Unilever signed a licensing agreement with Kinnerton.
Julie McCleave, Head of Licensing at Unilever UK said: “We’re delighted to announce our exciting new licensing partnership with leading confectionery supplier, Kinnerton. We are confident that bringing Unilever’s iconic ice cream brands – Magnum, Cornetto and Mini Milk – to market in a confectionary format will be a winning combination for retailers”.
Rachel Wyatt, Marketing Director at Kinnerton Confectionery added: “We tested the range with consumers and both the concept and product scored extremely highly. In fact, the scores that we received were amongst the highest that we’ve ever seen. We’re confident that launching Magnum, Cornetto and Mini Milk chocolates into the UK Chocolate Count Line category for the first time it will bring additional consumer excitement as well as drive sales for the category.
McCleave added: “As the UK’s largest Ice Cream manufacturer, with market leading brands boasting strong taste credentials, we’re well placed to enter into the Chocolate Count Line category. By offering consumers confectionery from brands they trust, along with the clear and comprehensive strategies that Kinnerton has presented to us, we’re confident that the launch will capitalise on the growth in this market”.
The partnership between Unilever ice cream brands and Kinnerton will be supported by a marketing campaign in 2013 which will include outdoor advertising.
