Jaz Ali doubles delivery sales with Scoot

Since switching to the Scoot delivery platform in December, Falkirk retailer Jaz Ali has seen delivery sales soar 100%.

Within five weeks, Jaz’s Premier Grangemouth had already experienced a delivery sales increase of 50%.

To raise awareness of the service, he changed the window shop vinyl to advertise Scoot, erected a large banner and put up POS on the gondola ends, as well as issuing fliers and getting a delivery van wrapped with the brand. He also promoted Scoot on social media via social media agency Orrest Digital.

“We managed to get 90% of our customers to transfer over to Scoot,” he told SLR. “The message that I’ve really concentrated on telling customers is that there’s no service charge. If a customer can save £2-3 per order, it’s a no brainer that they’re going to switch to Scoot.”

The store has gained 50-60 new delivery customers and the average order spend has rocketed from £15 to between £25 and £30.

He claimed he was now getting orders from further afield, whereas before he would have lost out to retailers on the same delivery platform. “We’ve started delivering to Bo’ness, Linlithgow and Avonbridge, which has made a big difference,” he said.
