New data from Collect+, the in-store parcel service from PayPoint, has revealed that more than three million parcels (3,178,906) were processed over the Black Friday period (24 November to 3 December), a 45% year-on-year increase in UK parcel traffic.

With an additional million parcels processed (1,169,096) compared to last Black Friday, the increase reflects a growing number of consumers looking to take advantage of big deal days and make the most of discounts on offer.

Nick Williams, Director of Parcel Services at PayPoint, said: “Despite challenging economic conditions, consumers across the UK are doubling down when it comes to taking advantage of online deals and offers, and this year’s Black Friday was no different.

“It’s testament to our retail partners who have gone above and beyond in processing record numbers of both parcel collections and returns.”
