Barny the bear offers ultimate Rangers experience

Children’s biscuit brand Barny, the one fronted by a cute little bear, is launching a new on-pack Rangers promotion.

The promotion offers consumers the chance to win the “ultimate exciting and educational outdoor experience”.

This is not, as readers in the West of Scotland may expect, a seat in the Broomloan stand for the next Old Firm game, but a five-night family safari to Kruger National Park in South Africa. Alongside the top prize, 500 Barny binoculars and 500 Discovery Diary activity books can be won every week.

By creating a team of Barny Rangers, the promotion aims to help Mums get their kids outside to kick-start their curiosity and excitement for wholesome, real-life play. The campaign runs until August 27, and Barny hopes brand growth will follow, follow.

Consumers can enter by uploading the code from a promotional Barny multipack to the website. Their details will then be registered for both the weekly draw and overall draw for the big trip to Africa.

Daniel Kessler, Barny Senior Brand Manager, said: “In today’s digital age, it seems that Mum is forever battling with the challenge of keeping her child from spending hours staring at a screen. We believe that the world is a much more interesting place if you look close, and have launched this promotion to help children uncover the exciting secrets of the great outdoors.

“We have had a great response from a number of large-scale sampling events at the start of 2017 – so we’re hoping that this will prove a hit with retailers and consumers alike.”

Barny is currently the number two children’s biscuit brand, but aspires to be simply the best.
