Stars from Scotland Women’s National Football Team joined Dan Brown at his Pinkie Farm store in Musselburgh, East Lothian, to kick off the launch of Barista Bar iced coffee yesterday.
Scotland striker Martha Thomas, who has racked up 21 goals for her national team, and midfielder Emma Watson, were filmed showing off their ball skills in-store, as well as using the self-serve Barista Bar machine to pour a cup of the new chilled drink.
“Great to have Emma Watson and Martha Thomas from Scotland’s National Women’s Football Team in-store filming for the launch of Barista Bars iced coffee launch with Spar Scotland!” said owner Dan Brown.
“Having been the first store in Scotland to introduce Barista Bar’s coffee machine, we’re delighted to now also be the first to launch their iced coffee!
“Barista Bar is exclusive to CJ Lang & Son Limited in Scotland and gives us a great point of difference in our store – one of the many benefits of being a Spar Scotland retailer!”
Dan installed the Barista Bar premium coffee-to-go offer at his store last August and experienced a growth in sales of over 100% versus his previous coffee offering.
The brand, developed by Henderson Foodservice, was then officially revealed at Spar Scotland’s annual tradeshow in Aviemore last September and has since been rolled out to all of the group’s company-owned stores, as well as a number of independents. Barista Bar is now the number two coffee brand in convenience in Scotland, according to CJ Lang.
