The Wholesale Group has introduced a new technology platform called Jake by ShopAI, which it says will transform how its members, suppliers and staff access and use business intelligence.
Unveiled at the group’s recent conference in Tenerife, Jake is described as the world’s first email-native business intelligence platform. It allows users to interact with data directly through their email inbox, removing the need to install separate software or switch between platforms.
Jake uses what ShopAI calls “ephemeral analytical workspaces” – temporary, secure environments created within an email thread. These workspaces allow users to ask questions about things like purchasing patterns or supplier pricing and receive instant analysis in the same email conversation. Once the thread ends, the workspace disappears, making it lightweight and secure.
The Wholesale Group is now rolling out the platform across its network of more than 255 member organisations. The system is designed to work with locked corporate devices, mobile workforces and multiple database systems, making it suitable for real-world wholesale operations.
The group believes Jake will give wholesalers a significant operational advantage by simplifying access to data and enabling faster, more informed decision-making.
