Werther’s Original has expanded its popcorn range with the launch of limited-edition Speculoos Caramel Popcorn.
Available now with a £2.50 RSP, the 140g sharing bag combines the brand’s caramel-coated popcorn with a speculoos flavour profile similar to the spiced caramelised biscuit taste popularised by Biscoff. A 72 x 140g free-standing display unit is also available.
The launch has been timed to coincide with Christmas trading, giving retailers a seasonal sharing snack option within the growing popcorn category.
The UK popcorn category was worth £211.5m in 2024, up 3.1% year on year. Werther’s Original said the new product is designed to help retailers capitalise on demand for premium sharing snacks and seasonal flavours.
The brand also highlighted shopper willingness to trade up in the category, with more than one in five consumers prepared to spend between £2.40 and £2.60 on a sharing snack.
