Weetabix has published its 2025/2026 Sustainability Report, revealing the progress it has made down the road to net zero across its value chain by 2050.
On farms, the company leaned into practical trials with its Growers Group – using less nitrogen and regenerative techniques to protect crop yields while cutting emissions. These small plot tests have moved to whole‑field trials. In 2025 Weetabix sourced more than 800 tonnes of wheat grown with lower fertiliser levels – enough for more than 30 million Weetabix biscuits.
In its operations, Weetabix has beaten its goal to cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 20% versus a 2018 baseline and is exploring alternative energy sources to drive further reductions. On packs, it reports a 13% cut in packaging carbon footprint and plastic reductions across key ranges – lowering embedded product emissions without denting quality or availability.
People and communities remain part of the brand’s plan. Since 2014, Weetabix has redistributed more than 25 million breakfast servings with FareShare and Magic Breakfast – including 1.3 million bowls in the past year – to support families facing food insecurity. Inside the business, apprenticeships, mental health support and an “inclusion without exception” drive have helped narrow the median gender pay gap from 3.4% in 2021 to 1.6% in 2025, well below the 6.9% national median. Employee inclusivity scores are up 5% year on year.
