Weetabix Food Company has redistributed the equivalent of 25 million breakfasts to UK charities and community groups since 2014, marking a milestone in its efforts to tackle food insecurity.
The business has worked with food redistribution charity Felix, formerly known as FareShare, for more than a decade to help ensure surplus cereal reaches those in need. The partnership has supported more than 8,000 charities and community groups across the UK.
With an estimated 4.5 million children in the UK living in poverty, Weetabix is backing Felix’s annual ‘Fueling Fuller Lives’ summer campaign, which supports families during school holidays when food and childcare costs increase. The initiative aims to ensure no child starts the day hungry.
Each year, Weetabix donates a range of cereals to schools, food banks, community hubs and local charities. The company also supports the partnership through employee volunteering, with colleagues helping to sort, pack and distribute surplus food.
In 2025, Weetabix provided the equivalent of 2.1 million breakfasts through Felix, reaching almost 3,000 organisations including schools, youth clubs, mental health charities, refugee support groups and services for older people.
The company introduced a best-before extension across its products in July 2025, designed to reduce food waste and increase the volume of surplus food available for redistribution.
