Staff at cash handling specialist Volumatic have raised £520 for Breast Cancer Now after taking part in a ‘Wear It Pink’ fundraising day for the second year running.
Around 40 employees at the company’s Coventry head office dressed in pink on 24 October, with outfits ranging from shirts and dresses to hair clips and cowboy hats. The event featured a pink-themed bake sale, sweepstakes and competitions, with the office decorated and donation boxes placed throughout.
The day was organised by Mandy House, Customer Service Representative at Volumatic, who was inspired by her family’s experience with breast cancer and its impact within the team. Mandy also gave a speech highlighting the importance of regular self-checks and early detection.
Thanks to staff donations and a board match, the total raised reached £520. Breast Cancer Now funds research, provides support and advice, and campaigns for earlier diagnosis and better treatments for the 600,000 people living with breast cancer in the UK.
James Harris, MD at Volumatic, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting causes that matter to its team and thanked Mandy for leading the fundraiser.
