Vertex Sales and Project Manager James Morgan has opened his second convenience store in the seaside town of Largs, North Ayrshire, just seven miles north of his first store in West Kilbride.
The new 2,000 sq ft Brisbane Food Store was built on the site of a Farmfoods which closed in January. The shop features a 300sq ft Beer Cave, dedicated home-delivery area, fresh hot-food deli & in-house prep kitchen.
As part of the town’s efforts to revitalise the area into the ‘Brisbane Quarter’, Brisbane Food Store honours the historical links between Largs and the Australian city named after former Governor of New South Wales, Sir Thomas Brisbane.
The store held a special opening day last Friday (Sept 18) attended by Toy Story mascots Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie, with 100 free gift bags given away and free slushies for children throughout the day.
James said: “Since entering the convenience sector as retailers just 22 months ago, opening in Largs had always been one of our key objectives, so it’s great to see that ambition become a reality so early on.
“A big thank you to all of the suppliers, partners & fellow retailers who have supported us along the way and with the launch of this project. I’d also like to thank my fantastic team of staff for all the hard work – who we could not grow without – and the team at Vertex Scotland whose excellent craftsmanship has helped deliver another outstanding store.
“We’re looking forward to continuing to serve the Largs community after a successful first week.”
