Police Scotland Renfrewshire & Inverclyde have charged two men in connection with the sale and possession of illicit tobacco in Paisley.
Town centre officers on plain clothes patrol seized a quantity of illicit tobacco from a premises in Moss Street, Paisley, last Thursday (19 February).
On Wednesday (25 February), the police announced that two men had been charged. Officers also warned the public that, not only can illicit tobacco contain harmful substances, but that it also helps fund serious and organised crime.
Officers continue to work closely with partner agencies to disrupt, detect and deter anyone involved in the illicit trade of illegal or counterfeit cigarettes and tobacco.
