Too Good To Go, the world’s largest marketplace for surplus food, has launched a ‘Local Hero’ initiative to give its best-performing partner retailers more visibility on the app.
The initiative will help highlight the store to nearby users, in turn driving even greater footfall. Local Heroes have increased visibility and signposting whilst displaying a Local Hero badge on the Too Good To Go app, reassuring consumers that this is a partner that they can trust. These high-performers also have access to additional perks, including Local Heroes marketing materials that retailers can display online and in-store – helping improve visibility in the local community.
There’s no sign-up process to become a Local Hero; instead, retailers simply just need to keep saving food with Too Good To Go. To earn their status, retailers are measured in three month increments on below measurements:
* Meals saved
* Store rating
* Cancellation rate
* Refund rate
Each store has its own target to reach, and each performance metric can be improved by following Too Good To Go’s recommendations in MyStore – Too Good To Go’s partner dashboard.
Chelsea Kerr, Managing Director of Too Good To Go, UK & Ireland said: “Independent retailers sit at the heart of their local communities, and play an important role in reducing food waste. At Too Good To Go, we’re proud to support them in unlocking the value of surplus food and ensuring good food doesn’t go to waste. Our Local Heroes feature shines a spotlight on the partners going above and beyond to reduce waste. By recognising and elevating these high-performing businesses, we’re helping them stand out to nearby users – driving footfall, increasing visibility, and supporting their continued impact.”
