Spar Scotland engages customers with new TikTok account

Spar Scotland has officially launched on the TikTok social media platform, with its videos achieving over 140,000 views in under two weeks.

While a few TikTok videos had been posted sporadically by Spar Scotland since 2023, CJ Lang & Son Demand Planner, Shaun Fleming, has now been given the additional role of Digital Content Creator and has been posting regularly since 3rd October.

Digital marketing officer at CJ Lang & Son, Lori Watson, claimed that, so far, the new videos had amassed over 400,000 impressions across multi-channel mix with minimal ad boost spend of under £150.

She said: “Our mission is simple: to modernise the brand, connect with our customers in a new way, and have fun while doing it.

“While the content is fun and quite daft really, it’s all strategically linked to what’s happening in-store, such as: showcasing our latest New Product Development; working off our promotional calendar so customers know exactly what great deals are on; and sharing behind-the-scenes laughs and b-roll chaos.”

Watson claimed that Fleming had embraced his new found role as the face of the brand, adding: “If you think our content is already nuts, just wait until you see what we have up our sleeves for Halloween and Christmas!”

The group’s TikTok activity follows the hyper local launch of 30 Spar Scotland stores on Facebook.
