Spar Scotland has celebrated its planned return to Aviemore for its annual Tradeshow, Conference and Awards with a £2,500 donation to local charity Badenoch and Strathspey Community ConnXions (BSCC). The cheque presentation took place in June, ahead of Spar Scotland’s big event on 25th September 2025.
The annual Tradeshow – the largest retail convenience event in Scotland – attracts over 800 delegates from across the country, including Spar retailers, store managers, and leading suppliers and 2025 marks the fourth consecutive year that the event will take place in Aviemore.
Paula Middleton, Head of Marketing at Spar Scotland, said: “Supporting local communities is at the heart of what we do, and we want to give something back to Aviemore and the wider area, which has welcomed us so warmly for the last four years. Badenoch and Strathspey Community ConnXions plays an essential role in improving people’s lives in this area, and we are proud to support the brilliant work they do.”
BSCC is an award-winning organisation dedicated to helping people in the region stay connected, independent and engaged with their communities. For over 25 years, BSCC has been removing barriers to participation through a range of services including community transport, befriending, green health initiatives, and door-to-door assisted shopping. With a small team of employees and supported by more than sixty trained volunteers, BSCC partners with public and third-sector organisations to deliver its mission of helping people get where they want and need to go.

The 2025 SPAR Scotland Tradeshow, Conference and Awards, themed ‘Inspiring Success’, aims to motivate attendees to unlock their full potential and explore new opportunities through innovation, systems, technology and NPD. The event offers a valuable platform for independent retailers, store managers, and suppliers operating in the Scottish convenience sector to connect, share ideas and discover the latest industry developments.
