The House of Botanicals has expanded its Pietro Nicola aperitivi and digestivo range with the launch of Sfizi Extra Dry Vermouth.
Produced in Aberdeen, the vermouth is made by fortifying Italian white wine and aromatising it with wormwood and 12 additional citrus peels, herbs, flowers, seeds and spices. The resulting aperitivo is described as crisp, herbal and savoury.
Pietro Nicola forms part of The House of Botanicals’ portfolio alongside its gin and Dr. Adam’s Cocktail Bitters ranges. The range is named after founder Adam Elmegirab’s grandmother, Dora Pietro Nicola Casella, and uses botanicals sourced from the UK, Italy and North Africa.
The new product takes its name from the Italian word ‘Sfizi’, meaning whimsical, delicious or satisfying a craving. The name also references the founder’s wife and son.
Established in 2009, The House of Botanicals said its spirits portfolio has been developed to complement classic cocktails including the Martinez, Negroni and Dry Martini.
Reflecting the company’s sustainability approach, the bottle, cap and label are all fully recyclable.
Sfizi Extra Dry Vermouth has an RSP of £21.50 for a 50cl bottle, with an ABV of 18%.
