Scotmid has marked its 10 year partnership with the St Andrew’s First Aid charity with a £5,000 donation.

The funding will enable the charity to purchase updated training resources, including several CPR manikins and defibrillator training units, which will be used to teach essential lifesaving skills through practical learning, in schools and communities around the country.

Over the past decade, Scotmid’s support has helped to provide more than 1,200 uniforms for new and existing volunteers, fund the purchase of 15 bicycles to support the growth of the cycle response team, and facilitated multiple training sessions.

Moyra Reid, Head of Marketing, Communications and Fundraising at St Andrew’s First Aid, said: “We are hugely grateful to Scotmid for their continued commitment and generosity. This donation will allow us to purchase the essential training equipment we need to reach even more people and to deliver even more training. Over the past decade, our partnership with Scotmid has enabled us to expand our work across Scotland, ensuring that more communities are confident and prepared to act in a first aid emergency.”

The ongoing support will strengthen St Andrew’s First Aid’s ability to deliver its Ready for Life programme, which equips young people with emergency first aid and mental health awareness skills, boosting their confidence, employability, and resilience.

Lynne Ogg, Head of Membership & Community Engagement at Scotmid, said: “Supporting St Andrew’s First Aid over the past ten years has been a privilege. Their volunteers and trainers do extraordinary work in communities every day, and we are proud to play a part in helping them continue that mission. This donation reflects our shared values of care, resilience, and community support.”
