Only in Glasgow…

Glasgow City Chambers

While the rest of the country detoxed the life out of January, Glaswegians were tucking into Currizza – the UK’s first curry pizza.

The Currizza is the brainchild of Glasgow chef Dave Gannon, who uses Indian naan bread as a base, topping it with fresh curry sauces and grated mozzarella. Because cheese is always the ingredient that’s been missing from a good curry.

Originally invented as an experimental snack for staff at his Indian restaurant in the French ski resort of Chamonix, Gannon launched the Curry Dave range in 2013 and is now on track to produce 10,000 currizzas a week. Available in all good shops now, apparently, because nothing says healthy eating like combining a curry and a pizza into a new snack – UTC is only left to wonder where the chips are.
