One Stop Franchise appoints new BDM for Scotland

Jim Carroll

One Stop has appointed Jim Carroll to its franchise team, as the group progresses towards launching in Scotland.

Having spent over 30 years in the independent retail sector, Carroll brings a wealth of experience to the franchise operation.  He has worked in a variety of operational and business development roles with the likes of CJ Lang (Spar), Andrew James Partnership, SCS Scotland (Spar), Margiotta and United Wholesale.  For the last ten years, Carroll was with Musgrave as a Regional Sales Manager for their Londis brand, working across Scotland.

The role of Franchise Business Development Manager for Scotland will initially involve bringing new retailers on board. The remit will then expand to helping franchisees grow their businesses, via a regular monthly development visit.

John Miller, Head of Operations for One Stop Franchise, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Jim to the franchise team.  His knowledge of Scotland’s independent retail scene, as well as his strong operational background, will be invaluable as we introduce our brand to new communities across the central belt.”

One Stop announced plans to bring their brand to Scotland in late 2014 and the franchise team is currently dealing with over 100 enquiries from independent retailers.  The move into Scotland will encompass both franchise and company-owned stores, with the first One Stop store due to open in the coming months.
