New-look Lotto launches early October

New-look Lotto POS material

Camelot’s enhanced flagship Lotto game will launch on Saturday 10th October with 25 guaranteed millionaires and a comprehensive range of eye-catching in-store POS. Camelot is also offering its retail partners the opportunity to take part in six virtual Lotto draws of their own, each with a jackpot of £5,000 and an assortment of smaller prizes.

Tickets for the new game go on sale on Thursday 8th October and retailers will receive a Lotto launch kit – including Playstation POS, window posters, leaflets, counter wraps, foil balloons, bunting, and new Lotto and Lotto HotPicks play slips – on Friday 2nd October. This should give retailers plenty of time to site the items, talk to their customers about the changes, drive player excitement, and make the most of potential sales and footfall.

To add to the in-store excitement, retailers and their staff have an opportunity to enjoy a taste of the new game by getting involved in ‘Win Big Together’, where over £100k in total prize money is up for grabs. All retailers need to do is visit www.winbigtogether.co.uk where they will be prompted to input their Camelot retailer number, store postcode, name and email address, before being asked to answer three questions about the changes to Lotto.

Once they have correctly answered the questions, they will be emailed their ticket for the virtual Lotto draws. There is no limit on the number of staff from each store that can enter – each individual just needs a valid email address. The prizes for each draw are:

  • Match six numbers – £5,000 jackpot
  • Match three numbers – £50
  • Match two numbers – Free entry valid for the next virtual store draw (the free ticket will be sent by email following the draw)
  • Match winning raffle number – £500

The new game offers massive ongoing sales opportunities, said James Pearson, Camelot’s Head of Retail Channel. “The new ‘Millionaire Raffle’ will guarantee at least two millionaires each week, while the move to 59 balls will see bigger rolling jackpots where average winning jackpots are expected to be triple what they are today. Retailers know first-hand the huge excitement that big jackpots bring and how this translates across to sales in their stores.

“And don’t forget that matching two numbers will now win players a free go, which means around 40 extra customers per store per week coming in to claim their free Lucky Dip ticket – providing retailers with a further fantastic opportunity to upsell.”

Full details of the changes to Lotto and Lotto HotPicks can be found on the National Lottery website.
