McEwan’s marks 160th birthday with year-long party

McEwan's beer cans through the ages

2016 will see McEwan’s reach the ripe old age of 160 years, which the Scottish beer brand plans to mark with a number of events and giveaways throughout the year.

McEwan’s Export drinkers will have a one in four chance to win a limited edition 160th anniversary pint glass, and there will be a number of other giveaways across McEwan’s social media throughout the year.

There will also be celebrations at McEwan’s Party at the Palace – the Linlithgow music festival sponsored by McEwan’s over the weekend of 13th and 14th August 2016.

A birthday celebration is also planned, which will be held in Edinburgh, the original home of McEwan’s. Details of the bash will be announced shortly.

Tara Karimian, Marketing Manager for McEwan’s Beers, said: “It’s a great time to be a McEwan’s drinker. While we’re developing excellent beers like the increasingly popular McEwan’s IPA, to meet the ever changing needs of today’s drinkers, we remain true to our brewing heritage.”

In the Scottish off-trade McEwan’s Export is the best-selling canned ale, while McEwan’s Champion is the number two best-selling premium bottled ale.
