Mark Aylwin has been appointed non-executive Chairman of The Wholesale Group, effective 1 September.
Aylwin, who previously chaired Unitas Wholesale, brings more than 35 years of senior experience in the UK food and drink industry. His career includes leadership roles at Booker Group, Blueheath and Musgrave.
The Group has also restructured its Executive Board. Jess Douglas is now Managing Director for People and Operations, Tom Gittins is Managing Director for Retail, and Coral Rose is Managing Director for Foodservice.
The Wholesale Group was formed in January through the merger of Confex and Fairway Foodservice. It now serves more than 349,000 customers and accounts for 13.7% of the UK wholesale market, with a turnover of £4.52 billion.
