The Mad Butcher has launched two new ambient meat snacks – Chorizo Bites and Salami Bites – as it looks to tap into growing demand for high-protein, on-the-go options.
The 40g dry cured pork snacks contain up to 11g of protein per pack and are gluten free. They are made using traditional techniques and are designed as a more premium alternative to crisps, nuts and jerky. Each pack carries an RSP of £1.50 and comes with a 240-day shelf life.
The products are currently available to indies in Scotland from Bobby’s Foods, with early listings confirmed in Spar and Morrisons.
The launch comes as the ambient meat snacking category continues to grow, with the market up 63% in value between 2020 and 2024 and forecast to reach £454m by 2027.
The brand said the new lines give retailers a strong opportunity to drive incremental sales and margins.
