Irn-Bru gets performance boost as AG Barr hires Formula One coach

Bradley Scanes

Irn-Bru will soon be produced with the same precision as a pit stop after AG Barr appointed former Formula One coach Bradley Scanes as its new People Performance Director.

Scanes brings over 13 years’ experience coaching elite athletes, including serving as High Performance Coach and Physiotherapist to four-time Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen. He has also worked with Olympic athletes in British Gymnastics and Basketball, helping them build habits and processes that deliver consistent success.

AG Barr says the appointment reflects its commitment to creating an environment where its people can thrive as the company pursues ambitious growth plans. Scanes will focus on applying lessons from elite sport to business, embedding positive habits, fine-tuning processes and driving innovation.

Bradley Scanes said: “Working in Formula One has shown me how small changes in habits, culture and process can deliver world-class results. AG Barr is a prestigious business with incredible brands and talented people, and I’m excited to help unlock even more of that untapped potential.”

Bradley joins AG Barr on 10 December, reporting directly to Alison Gowen, the company’s Chief People Officer.
