Irn-Bru gets a new TV ad through

Irn-Bru has unveiled the first new TV advert which forms part of its £2m six-month programme of support for brand. The advert is the first of two and builds on the success of last year’s ‘Gets You Through’ series.

The advert which launched on Facebook introduces ‘New Fella’ and like other adverts in the series shows how Irn-Bru can be relied on to help the characters through a difficult situation.

Things are tense as patriotic Scot Mr McGhee meets his daughter’s new boyfriend and his dog, Wembley, for the first time. But a taste of the nation’s best loved soft drink soon gets Mr McGhee through.

AG Barr’s Head of Marketing, Adrian Troy, said: “Last year’s campaign resulted in £3m of incremental sales for Irn-Bru during the campaign. The adverts really engage consumers with the brand and we expect a surge in demand for Irn-Bru, making our advice to retailers clear: stock up on Irn-Bru!”

The campaign will feature special packs, dedicated POS, a new website and social media support alongside the TV campaign that will run for 16 weeks.

AG Barr is urging retailers to capitalise on the campaign by utilising POS materials and building eye-catching displays to really pull through their sales of Scotland’s favourite soft drink.
