With support from the Making A Difference Locally (MADL) charity’s Heart of the Community Fund, eight Greens Retail stores have each stores have each donated £1,000 to local groups and charities.
The recipients comprised:
- Dunblane Boys Brigade
- Perth Bowling Club
- The Larder
- Fraserburgh Beach Sandcruiser Fund
- Boomerang Community Centre
- Happy to Chat, Happy to Listen
- Forget Me Not
- Aberdeenshire North Foodbank
“These organisations are the heartbeat of their communities, supporting people in need and stepping up where it matters most,” said Greens Retail. “As a business rooted in local communities, it’s important to us that support like this is driven by the people closest to it, our store teams. They know their areas best, and they see firsthand the impact these groups have every day.”
Greens Retail recently reported revenue of £29.6m in its annual results for the 12 months to 31st March 2025, up from £26.6m in 23/24.
The group claimed that the revenue increase was a direct result of both the continued consolidation and growth of the store estate, increasing from 19 sites in FY 23/24 to 25 sites at the end of FY 24/25, as well as continued year on year growth in the existing store estate of over 8%.
The firm reported a pre-tax loss of £504,023 compared with a profit of £454,312 for the previous period. The company claimed that the drop was caused by the continued store openings and refurbishments leading to both significant initial investments into fixtures and fittings resulting in a substantial increase in depreciation and non-recurring costs, combined with continued investment into central resources.
EBITDA after non-recurring items increased to £1.22m versus £1.03m in 23/24. Company directors considered the trading results to be “strong and in line with expectations amidst a challenging wider economic climate”.
The group claimed that there is substantial further expansion planned for FY 25/26.
