Retailers must remove certain packs of Graham’s Family Dairy Semi-Skimmed Milk from chillers after the supplier issued a recall following the discovery of veterinary medicines, including antibiotics, in the product.
The firm said that the recall was a precautionary measure due to a small risk of trace levels of antibiotics being present in the milk, which could cause a reaction in consumers with an allergy to penicillin.
One pint, one litre and two litre packs with a use by date of 31 Jul must be withdrawn from sale as the veterinary medicines found in them may be unsafe to consume and pose a possible health risk for consumers with penicillin allergies.
Retailers who have sold the product must display the firm’s point of sale notice to explain the situation to consumers.
Shops must refund any products returned.
Graham’s apologised for the issue and reassured customers that no other Grahams Family Dairy products or Use By Dates were affected.
