Glengoyne has given two of its single malts a sustainable packaging makeover.
The multi award-winning Glengoyne 18-Year-Old Highland and Glengoyne 21-Year-Old Sherry Oak whiskies now come in fully recyclable boxes, sourced just a few miles from the distillery. The fully recyclable bottles also contain 49% recycled glass.
The new box designs feature a gatefold that opens to reveal the view from the top of Dumgoyne Hill, the volcanic plug that looms over the distillery.
As the southernmost Highland distillery in Scotland, Glengoyne was the first to adopt a wetlands area, using pools and reed beds to return naturally cleansed water from whisky production into a local burn, and eventually into Loch Lomond. Other by-products are used to generate enough energy to power 476 homes each year, and the site also uses wind and solar power. The wetlands are home to 14,500 plants across 20 species, providing a haven for local wildlife.
Glengoyne 18-Year-Old Highland (43% ABV, 70cl) has an RSP of £125, while the Glengoyne 21-Year-Old Sherry Oak (43% ABV, 70cl) is priced at £200.
