The future’s bright with Dr. Oetker

Dr. Oetker Food Colour Gels

Home baking brand Dr. Oetker is re-launching its range of Food Colour Gels with stronger, brighter colours.

Extra Strong Food Colour Gel (RSP £1.29 per tube) is available in a spectrum of colours comprising red, blue, pink, yellow, green, violet, black and orange. The gels can be used to create a range of shades from pastel to bold.

Dr. Oetker says the range produces “beautiful, consistent colours in sponges and all icing types”. The colours suit a variety of recipes and baking occasions, and the range is well-placed to tap into the increasing popularity of rainbow cakes and unicorn food.

The new tube has increased in size from 10g to 15g, and strengthened its formula. With three times more colour per tube, it is understood to be the strongest formula for gels within the grocery market. As opposed to liquid colours, gel colours are bake stable and achieve bright and consistent results in all applications including sponges.

Jan McKee, Executive Head of Marketing at Dr. Oetker UK, said: “Colourful baking is a huge trend for 2017 and we’ve listened to consumer feedback to produce a range of colours that will deliver even stronger results for home bakers.

“Extra Strong Food Colour Gels will feature in some of our upcoming challenges on the ‘We Bake’ community, so we hope to start seeing great feedback on the product from users.”

Extra Strong Food Colour Gels are available now.
