The Association of Convenience Stores is urging retailers to act now and register their forecourt sites for the Fuel Finder Scheme, as registration is now officially open.

The Fuel Finder Scheme will require retailers to report fuel price changes within 30 minutes and provide details on eight facilities and amenities, including Adblue pumps, Adblue packaged, LPG pumps, car washes, air pumps, water filling, 24 hour fuel, and customer toilets.

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has confirmed that mandatory reporting will commence as planned on 2 February 2026. Retailers should register all forecourt sites they manage as soon as possible to ensure compliance with the scheme. The department has published detailed guidance on how to use Fuel Finder, including:

What you’ll need to sign up.
How to register and update forecourt information.
How to report fuel prices.
Retailers can access the registration page here and view the full guidance here.

ACS Chief Executive James Lowman said: “We welcome the opening of registration for the Fuel Finder Scheme and encourage all retailers to register their sites as soon as possible. While the CMA will focus on supporting businesses during the first three months, this is still a tight turn around which poses major challenges for retailers. We will continue to work closely with the Fuel Finder team to make sure the process is clear and practical for retailers.”
