Day‑Today retailer Mohammad Rafi has added a digital dimension to his store.
Mohammad Rafi has relaunched his Day‑Today Express store on Shettleston Road, Glasgow, following a major refit. The shop now features a striking new black and red Day‑Today fascia and refreshed storefront branding.
Working closely with the United Wholesale Scotland team, Mohammad embarked on a full internal shopfit and category refresh.

Customer‑facing digital media screens were installed across key in‑store touchpoints, creating stronger promotional visibility to drive impulse sales. The screens can display key brand messages and help bring the shopping experience to life.
The store has also launched United Wholesale Scotland’s Spin to Win gamification feature, which gives shoppers the chance to win free products in store and encourages increased footfall. The screens, which are installed at zero cost to the retailer and are wholly controlled by UWS, can run Day‑Today group promotions as well as paid‑for supplier partnerships.

“Customers like the [new‑look] store,” Mohammad told SLR. “They’ve been playing the Spin to Win game, and they’ve won lots of products.”
The store is set to launch a Facebook page shortly to give the business a further boost.

Mohammad added: “I knew the store needed a fresh new look, but the finished transformation has exceeded all expectations. The new branding, digital screens and improved layout have completely changed the store.”
He thanked Development Manager Eddie McCrory and the rest of the Day‑Today team for their help and guidance throughout the project.

The latest relaunch reflects the continued investment Day‑Today is making to help independent retailers evolve their stores and compete in today’s fast‑moving convenience sector.
The digitalisation of Day‑Today stores began last June, with 15 stores fitted out with gamification and promotional screens.

Customers can spin to win a product every 24 hours, with UWS able to control how many times a customer wins within a set time period. When a customer wins, the screen prints a voucher for the retailer to scan alongside the prize product. The wholesaler then credits the retailer for the product given away.
UWS Managing Director Chris Gallacher said: “A big well done to Mr Rafi and the Day‑Today team. Keep an eye out for many more stores being transformed in the coming weeks!”
