The Coca-Cola Company has donated £120,000 to charities chosen by six independent retailers featured in its ongoing campaign, ‘The Bosses’.
The campaign celebrates independent retailers at the heart of their communities and their role in Coca-Cola’s story in Great Britain. Selected for their dedication and local impact, the six store owners were the focus of a nationwide tribute showcasing their contribution and championing the wider convenience retail sector.
To bring their stories to life, photographer Serena Brown captured high-fashion portraits of the retailers and their families, while director Ross Bolidai produced mini-documentaries revealing their real lives and community influence.
As the next part of the campaign, each retailer received £20,000 to allocate to up to two charities of personal significance. Donations have supported causes ranging from food banks and hospice care to youth initiatives and cultural organisations. In Edinburgh, Sophie Williams and her parents directed their fund to Oxgangs Care, a local service supporting vulnerable people through companionship and essential assistance.
Sophie said: “I’m honoured to have been part of this campaign and to be able to shine a light on the charities that do so much for the community I grew up in. This donation will make a real difference to people locally, and I’m grateful to Coca-Cola for helping continue to support our work within the community around us.”
Stephen Moorhouse, General Manager at CCEP GB, added: “The retailers featured in ‘The Bosses’ are extraordinary individuals who give so much to the people around them. We’re proud to work closely with convenience retailers across Great Britain, and these donations reflect our continued commitment to supporting the people and places at the heart of their communities.”
