Clearspring has expanded its Organic Matcha range with the launch of Organic Japanese Hojicha Powder.
The powder is made from organically farmed green tea leaves, which are harvested and roasted in Japan before being ground into a fine powder.
The roasting process gives the product a smooth and mellow taste, with a nutty aroma and gentle smoky flavour. It is lower in caffeine than coffee and can be used to make hojicha lattes, whisked with hot water, blended into smoothies and ice cream, or used in baking.
The launch builds on Clearspring’s existing hojicha loose-leaf tea and teabag range.
Clearspring said hojicha lattes are becoming increasingly popular in coffee shops across the UK, with the drink offering toasty and earthy notes of caramel and cocoa when combined with warm milk.
Clearspring Organic Japanese Hojicha Powder has an RSP of £8.99.
