Cidres Wignac has launched its range of award-winning organic ciders in new 250ml cans in Scotland, following a recent brand refresh.
Available now via Casa Julia, the slimline cans are designed to help the French, family-run cider maker expand its reach beyond the on-trade and into retail, fast casual, quick serve and event channels. The move marks the first time the range has been offered in cans in the Scottish market.
The 250ml can range includes Wignac Organic Pomme Cider (4.5% ABV), made from a blend of cider and eating apples; Wignac Organic Rosé Cider (4.5% ABV), combining apple cider with grape juice for red fruit notes; and Wignac Organic Non-Alcoholic Cider, produced using 100% organic apple juice.
Produced in the Ardennes, Wignac’s ciders are made using 100% organic pure apple juice, with no added sugar, colourings or sulphites. The range is positioned as a reflection of the region’s terroir, combining traditional cider-making techniques with contemporary presentation.
Eliane Astor, Co-founder of Cidres Wignac, said the introduction of cans was a key step in unlocking new growth opportunities: “We’ve built a strong presence in the restaurant, hotel and bar sectors since launch, but the recent brand refresh and launch of our first cans was needed to open up new opportunities across multiple, convenience and speciality retail, while boosting our visual impact and highlighting our unique proposition.”
Cidres Wignac was founded in 2016 by siblings Edouard de Merode and Eliane Astor, who revived the Wignacourt family’s cider-making heritage in northern France. The brand’s organic credentials are certified by Ecocert and Certisys, and its range has received multiple accolades, including a Great Taste Award in 2023.
