Spar Scotland has opened company-owned store, Spar Market Ladybank in Fife, after moving its existing Ladybank shop into the larger former Premier store opposite, which has undergone a complete overhaul.

Located on Commercial Road, the new 1,747sq ft store houses a CJ’s Food-to-Go hot food offer; Barista Bar hot and cold drinks; and extended chilled ranges including fresh fruit & vegetables, fresh meat and new ready meals.

The extended grocery range is tailored to the local community, while the store also boasts a strengthened selection of locally sourced Scottish products and a broad programme of value-led promotions.

The outlet offers essential services including EVRi parcel services, PayPoint, ATM and lottery

To mark the opening, the team hosted a ‘Grand Opening and Festive Celebration’ on Friday 5th December. The event featured Santa Claus, face painting, Christmas prizes and a “spin the wheel” competition, including two £100 Spar voucher giveaways. Stuart’s Bakery and Thomson’s Tea offered free sampling to shoppers, while carol singing was performed by pupils from Ladybank Primary School.

As part of the celebrations, Spar Scotland also made charitable donations of £500 each to Ladybank Primary School, Ladybank Youth Club and Ladybank Development Trust, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the local community.

Frank McCarron, Company Owned Store Director for Spar Scotland, said: “We are very happy to open Spar Market Ladybank and deliver a much-enhanced shopping experience for the local community. Moving into a larger, modern store allows us to offer an extended range, stronger value and improved services, all while maintaining the friendly, familiar Spar service our customers rely on.

“The team are really excited to welcome shoppers into the new store and Friday’s launch event was a fantastic celebration for families across the village.”

All colleagues from the former Ladybank Spar have transferred to the new site, while new staff members have also been recruited from the local area.
