Brookfield Drinks has acquired the Crabbie’s alcoholic ginger beer brand from Halewood Artisanal Spirits.
Founded in Edinburgh in 1801, Crabbie’s is an alcoholic ginger beer brand with distribution across the UK and international markets. The brand is produced using a six-week ginger-steeping process that remains central to its flavour profile.
The deal includes Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer, raspberry and blood orange variants, and Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Wine.
Brookfield Drinks said the acquisition will strengthen its position in the fruit and flavoured beer category, alongside its Rubis fruit beer range.
The company described Crabbie’s as a complementary addition to its portfolio and highlighted continued growth in flavour-led alcoholic drinks and fruit beers.
Brookfield Drinks has also confirmed plans to increase marketing investment behind the brand, with activity aimed at strengthening its presence across retail and hospitality channels in the UK and export markets. Further details on future marketing plans are set to be announced in the coming months.
