Biona has launched a new trio of organic World Bean Meals — heat‑and‑eat jarred dishes inspired by global flavours — as branded ready meals continue to grow in value and volume.
The range comprises Bean Chilli Mexican Style, Chickpea Coconut Curry Indian Style and Chickpea Tagine Moroccan Style. All have an RSP of £3.49.
Each meal is naturally plant‑based, high in fibre and a source of plant protein (up to 18g per jar), with no added sugar, preservatives or artificial additives. The glass jar format offers a premium, plas-tic‑free option while the world cuisine recipes cater for flexitarians, plant‑curious shoppers and busy families seeking quick, meat‑free meals.
Biona’s move comes as the ready‑meal category expands, with branded ready‑meal value sales up 20.9% and unit sales up 10.4%. Health is an increasing purchase driver, with 65% of consumers be-lieving ultra‑processed foods are unhealthy and likely to cause issues prompting demand for cleaner labels, visible ingredients and added benefits such as protein and fibre.
