Bestway teams up with Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

Zameer Choudrey

Bestway has chosen The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) as its charity partner for its annual Royal Ascot Charity Race Day on 17th June.

Like Bestway, the DofE is also celebrating a landmark year having been established 60 years ago by HRH Prince Philip. The charity is committed to providing young people aged 14-24 the opportunity to develop skills and prepare them for life and employment.

Zameer Choudrey CBE (pictured), Chief Executive of the Bestway Group is delighted to be supporting such a worthy cause. “Young people are our future leaders, businessmen, doctors, nurses, teachers, etc. In order for them to be the best they can be, we have to instil in them a sense of purpose, responsibility, accountability and resilience in their formative years. At Bestway, we have worked with the DofE for over 20 years and know first-hand the incredible work they do in preparing young people for their futures. The DofE is unique in the work it does and we are extremely proud to have it as our main beneficiary for our 22nd Royal Ascot Charity Race Day.”

Peter Westgarth, Chief Executive at the DofE added: “At the DofE we are extremely honoured that Bestway has selected the Charity as its main beneficiary for its Charity Race Day in this, our Diamond Anniversary year. As part of our Diamond Ambition, the DofE aims to impact two million 14-24 year olds across the social spectrum over the next six years. Bestway’s generous commitment will go a long way to helping us make a step-change in the number of young people whose lives will be transformed.”
