Bee reprieve could save more than honey stocks

Environmentalists, and booze lovers, across the land have been rejoicing lately after the European Union voted to ban pesticides containing nerve agents which are blamed in part for dramatically declining bee populations worldwide.

Not only will this help protect honey stocks, but it will help men like Will Chase ensure he can keep producing his award-winning range of vodka and gin. Which is arguably more of a relief than the whole honey/bees themselves thing.

Chase, founder of the Chase Distillery, said bees were hugely important to the food chain and he was looking forward to starting his beehives and hopes to begin producing organic honey later this year. “The honey not only will make a delicious addition to afternoon tea but also to my vodka and gin,” he added, importantly.
