Apply for up to £5,600 funding to boost sales of local produce

SGF Go Local 2
Convenience retailers have until 31st of May to apply for a Scottish Grocers Federation’s (SGF) Go Local Grant, worth up to £5,600 per store, to provide dedicated, long term display space for locally sourced Scottish products.

The match funded grant, which supports c-stores to sell local Scottish produce with a bias towards fresh and healthy products, is open to all Scottish convenience retailers, but multi-site operators are limited to one application per company.

The SGF Go Local Project Report 2024 showed that stores involved with the programme saw sales of Scottish compliant products rise 44% and an average increase of £169,000 per store per annum.

As there is a limit on the funds available, should the program be oversubscribed, the selection criteria will ensure firstly, a fair spread across fascia’s, secondly, geographic location, thirdly, program potential, fourthly demographics, and fifthly, date of application. All stores selected for the program will be approved by the SGF for the purposes of fairness and transparency. The panel’s decision will be full and final.
