Andy Murray steps in as ‘spectator coach’ for Walker’s Shortbread

Andy Murray is swapping rackets for recommendations as part of a new campaign with Walker’s Shortbread, taking on the role of ‘Spectator Coach’ ahead of the summer tennis season.

The initiative is tied to the brand’s position as an Official Supporter of the Queen’s Club tournament, placing the Scottish biscuit maker at the centre of the UK’s grass-court calendar.

The light-hearted campaign is built around a series of videos in which the former world number one offers his take on how fans should behave courtside. Murray shares advice on everything from warming up your neck to watch long rallies, to cheering on the underdog, and what not to do during a point – such as popping a champagne cork or shouting “Come on, Tim!”.

Leaning into Murray’s on-court experience, the content plays on the frustrations players face with noisy or mistimed crowd reactions, turning them into humorous “tips” for spectators.

The activity forms part of Walker’s wider partnership with Murray, who was appointed as the brand’s first-ever ambassador in 2025.
