Albert Bartlett and FareShare marked a major milestone as Andy Murray visited Glasgow today (13 May 2026) to celebrate the partnership reaching 20 million meals delivered across the UK.
The tennis legend joined teams from FareShare and The Felix Project at the Move On facility, which manages the FareShare depot for Glasgow and the West of Scotland. During the visit, he toured the new Coronation Food Project Hub, a site designed to increase the region’s capacity to rescue, sort and redistribute surplus food to local charities.
The hub, part of the King’s Coronation Food Project, is due to open in the coming months and will support charities tackling food insecurity across the region. Murray followed the journey of surplus potatoes through the facility and met volunteers and partner organisations.
“Seeing the work happening here in Glasgow has been really inspiring,” said Murray. “It’s brilliant to be part of a partnership that has now helped provide 20 million meals to those that need them most.”
Albert Bartlett has worked with FareShare and The Felix Project for more than 15 years, supplying surplus potatoes and produce to help reduce food waste while supporting communities in need. The partnership has grown steadily, reaching 10 million meals in 2023 and 15 million in 2025 before hitting the latest milestone.
Move On, one of 17 FareShare network partners, redistributed the equivalent of 2.5 million meals to 98 charities in Scotland last year. Alongside food redistribution, the organisation also provides employability support, including practical training such as driving lessons and forklift operation.
