National Lottery operator Allwyn has reached a major milestone in its UK-wide rollout of new Wave terminals, with more than 22,000 now successfully installed across retail locations.
This marks the halfway point in Allwyn’s rollout of the new machines, which are designed to modernise and enhance The National Lottery’s in-store experience for both retailers and players.
The new terminals replace legacy machines dating back to 2009 and offer a significant upgrade in technology. Features include:
- A high-speed processor for faster transactions;
- A larger, tilt-adjustable LCD screen;
- Wireless 1D barcode and 2D code scanners;
- A versatile play slip reader that can be fed both horizontally and vertically;
- Enhanced functionality, including improved reporting and the ability to update National Lottery Fast Pay cards.
The rollout forms part of Allwyn’s broader strategy to overhaul The National Lottery and deliver more for players, retail partners and good causes.
Retailers who have not yet received their new Wave terminal can expect to hear from Allwyn in the coming weeks with details of their installation date.
