Aldi has revealed 25 additions to its priority locations for new stores across the UK, including three in Scotland.
The discount giant is seeking new sites in Ayr South, South Ayrshire; Blantyre, South Lanarkshire; and Falkirk Central, Falkirk.
Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: “We know how important it is for people to have access to affordable, high-quality food close to where they live, which is why we’re focused on identifying the communities that would benefit most from a new Aldi store.
“Opening new stores in these areas means we can bring great value to more customers, while also creating jobs and offering industry-leading pay.”
This announcement builds on Aldi’s wider UK expansion plans. The supermarket is investing over £370m in new stores this year as it works towards its long-term target of 1,500 locations nationwide.
It also follows Aldi’s recent £40m investment in London, where eight new stores are set to open this year, bringing hundreds of new jobs and more affordable food options to communities that currently lack access to discount supermarkets.
