AG Barr set for summer success with NPD and promos

AG Barr has unveiled a range of limited editions and marketing campaigns across a number of its brands, as we hit the heart of summer.

First up, and the Barr range is launching a limited edition Bubblegum flavour.

Barr Bubblegum, available until early October, received excellent feedback in consumer taste tests, with 84% of consumers saying they would buy the product.

“The Barr range has always been renowned for launching great tasting, great value products which bring something completely new to the market,” says Adrian Troy, Head of Marketing for A G Barr. “Barr Bubblegum taps into a growing flavour trend in other categories and, with its eye-catching colour and packaging, it is set to attract new consumers to the range.”

To support the Bubblegum launch, Barr will be investing in a heavyweight TV campaign in Scotland from 5th August for 8 weeks.

The company is also enabling retailers to capitalise on carnival season with a limited edition product and special promotional packs on KA, the £30m soft drinks brand that provides a full-flavoured taste of the Caribbean.

KA’s summer-long carnival focus kicks off with the launch of limited edition, citrus flavoured Karnival Krush, available in both price-marked cans (49p) and 500ml PET (89p). This new refreshing flavour is perfect for the summer and the pack formats are geared to driving impulse sales. In addition, special promotional packs will be available, with £1.29/2 for £2 packs being rolled out across the one-litre range of KA Stills strawberry, pineapple, fruit punch and black grape variants.

Finally, Orangina is boosting its summer sales opportunity by launching the ‘Wake Up Your Lips’ promotion, in partnership with French cosmetics giant Bourjois. The on-pack promotion sees the two brands teaming up together to offer consumers an one in 5 chance of winning a lipgloss worth £7.99.

Orangina has a proven record of successful on-pack promotions, with consecutive 15% sales growth on 500ml bottles during the summer promotions for the past two years.

To enter the prize draw, consumers simply enter a unique reference number from their pack via www.wakeupyourlips.co.uk. Winners can share their win via Facebook, encouraging purchase from others.
