The winners of SLR’s third Above and Beyond Awards were revealed today (18 March 2026) at a celebratory lunch held in Glasgow’s glitzy Corinthian Club.
Hosted by SLR Publisher Antony Begley and Features Editor Gaelle Walker, the awards shone a spotlight on some of the very brightest stars in our sector – those colleagues who go out of their way to make things better for the people and places around them.
From running into burning buildings to rescue elderly residents, to buying sleeping bags for the homeless, visiting elderly shoppers in care homes, playing Santa for children who would otherwise go without, to simply “being there” for people – every single one of this year’s finalists and winners demonstrates what it truly means to go above and beyond – and not just sporadically, every single day.
Their stories left us awed and inspired – and, in many cases, a little tearful too.
All of our fantastic finalists received a certificate recognising their achievements, and it was from this outstanding bunch that seven winners were ultimately chosen.
You can see pictures of the winners receiving their awards at the Above and Beyond Awards mini site.
