Glasgow Science Centre is a visitor attraction located in the Clyde Waterfront Regeneration area on the south bank of the River Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland. Queen Elizabeth II opened the Centre on June 5th 2001. It is one of Britain’s most popular places to visit and Europe’s Best Science Centre. It is a purpose-built science centre composed of three principal buildings which are the Science Mall, an IMAX cinema and the Glasgow Tower. The Scottish tourist board, VisitScotland, awarded the Centre a five star rating in the visitor attraction category. As well as its main location, Glasgow Science Centre also manages the visitor centre at Whitelee Wind Farm, which opened to the public in 2009.

Clive Humby

Clive Humby

Clive is one of two founders of dunnhumby, the global consumer insights business. He has been a pioneer in the application of mathematical methods for marketing since the 1970s and the architect behind a series of major innovations in marketing including Tesco Clubcard, the ACORN geodemographic system and retail location methods. Clive and his partner Edwina Dunn started dunnhumby in 1989 in their back bedroom and grew it to a global business serving major retailers and brands in 30 countries around the world before selling the business in 2011. When he left the business after selling it to Tesco it employed over 1,800 people and analysed the behaviour of over 400 million consumers globally.

He is an elected fellow of both the Market Research Society and the Institute of Direct Marketing and was made a founding Patron of the Market Research Society in 2012. He is also a on the Board of Friends of the Royal Academy.

Currently, he is Chief Scientist at Starcount.com, a global organization specializing in Social Media measurement and Visiting Professor in Integrated Marketing at Northwestern University in Evanston, Il. USA and Marketing at Cranfield University, England and invests in innovative technology applied to consumer marketing via H&D HoldCo.
