Tic Tac sends retailers to Big Apple

New York

Ferrero has announced the two first prize winners of its Tic Tac ‘Win a trip to the Big Apple’ competition, following its launch at the beginning of the year.

The UK and Irish winners will be treated to a three night trip to New York including: a visit to the Empire State Building, a sightseeing helicopter flight over New York and $500 of spending money.

The ‘Win a trip to the Big Apple’ competition required retailers to purchase a promotional case of Tic Tac with a countertop unit, with the aim of driving standout in-store to encourage segment growth. Throughout the four month entry period, the brand received nearly 300 entries from across the UK and Ireland, with 50 runner-up winners receiving point of sale kits to help them maximise their sugar confectionery sales.

Levi Boorer, Customer Development Director, commented: “As the fastest growing brand in the sugar confectionery segment amongst the top 15 sugar brands , our aim is to continue to drive positive segment performance, whilst also rewarding retailers for their ongoing support for Tic Tac. Congratulations to Dave Flanagan and Satnam Malli; we hope you have the trip of a lifetime.”

Dave Flanagan from Ballinasloe Corrib Oil Spar in Ireland couldn’t believe it when he found out that he’d won a trip to New York. He said: “I’ve always stocked Tic Tac in the forecourt, as they sell well as an impulse purchase near the till point, and this is such a lovely reward from Ferrero. It’ll be a fantastic break from the busy life of retail; I can’t wait for the helicopter tour of the city.”

Boorer concluded: “Tic Tac is a brand that retailers and consumers alike know and love, and with every format in growth it really is an exciting time for the brand and we will continue to share that success with our retailers.”
