Salmond to give SGF keynote

The Scottish Grocers’ Federation has announced that First Minister Alex Salmond has agreed to give a keynote speech to SGF’s annual conference at Hampden Park on 2nd October.

In a major coup for the Scottish Grocers’ Federation and the convenience store industry in Scotland, the conference and speech from the First Minster comes just two weeks after the Scottish independence referendum.

Chief Executive John Drummond said: “We are delighted to have the First Minister addressing conference so soon after the independence referendum. Whether the result is Yes or No, this is an outstanding opportunity for retailers and suppliers to hear how the result will affect them and their businesses. This shows that the First Minister sees convenience stores as playing a vital part in Scotland’s economic future”.

The Conference will be chaired by Kaye Adams. The programme also key industry speakers, special guests and the highly successful Call Kaye session – one of the highlights of last year’s conference.
